It's time for the sixth episode of my vegan Thanksgiving recipes, and this time I've made mini apple pies.
12 mini apple pies
This is what you need:
2 packs of pie dough
1,5 big apple
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon vegan butter
1 dl brown sugar
Topping: 1 tablespoon white sugar and 1/4 tablespoon cinnamon
muffin tray
big cup
pizza roller/sharp knife
plant milk
caramel sauce
This is what you do:
Preheat the oven to 200 Celcius.
Cut apples into small pieces and put it in a pan with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Warm it up so it softens, it takes around 5 minutes.
Use a big cup to cut out 12 circles out of the dough. Put them in the muffin tray. Poke the dough with a fork. Prebake in the oven for 12 minutes.
Use a pizza roller or knife to cut the rest of the dough into strips.
Put the apple filling in the pie-cups. Then put the dough strips over and braid them. Watch the video under to see how I do it. Coat the top with plant milk.
Then mix together white sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle it on top of the doughs. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Cool and serve. Perfect with some caramel sauce.
